May through September 2018
As part of Summer Reading at New York Libraries, the State Education Department and myON are partnering to bring thousands of enhanced digital books to children from birth through 8th grade and their families all around the state!
We are little pussy cats
(use hands, crawl, or tip toe)
Walking round and round.
We have cushions on our feet
And never make a sound.
You can change the lyrics to be other animals such as dogs, elephants, crocodiles, and any other animals you can think of!
When you visit this website tomorrow there will be two new books for you to enjoy. Visit your local library to take home a copy of this book or click here to find your local public library. Check here to see what books are coming next or look back on what we’ve read so far this year.
Help your child write a letter to a family member or friend describing the animals he or she has seen this month. Younger children can dictate and then draw a picture of one of the animals.
DayByDayNY is funded in part through the Federal Library Services and Technology Act, with funds awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services. The New York State Library is a program of the Office of Cultural Education in the New York State Education Department.
