Sing a Song

The Garden Song

This is called The Garden Song. Sing the chorus softly and think about how things grow.

Inch by inch, row by row
Gonna make this garden grow.
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground.

Inch by inch, row by row
Someone bless these seeds I sow.
Someone warm them from below
‘Till the rain comes tumbling down.

One More Story

When you visit this website tomorrow there will be two new books for you to enjoy. Visit your local library to take home a copy of this book or click here to find your local public library. Check here to see what books are coming next or look back on what we’ve read so far this year.

Try This

Today’s color is dark green. Dark green is the color of leaves we see in the Spring and summer. Help your child draw leaf shapes (make them up if they’d like). Then color them in with dark green.

If you can go outdoors, use them to “dress up” the bare trees. If you are indoors, tape them to a headband and/or ribbon so that your child can wear them and pretend to be a tree in the garden.
